Hi, I am Melody, Danielle’s mom. Four months ago, on May 17, 2008, we received the most horrendous, tragic news...that Danielle had been killed in a car accident. In the midst of this overwhelming loss, we continue to live in hope because of the assurance that those who believe in Jesus will experience eternal life – and we know we will see Danielle again. I’d like to share Danielle's last message that she wrote to some friends. We found a bunch of cards in her Bethel University dorm room that she had written but not distributed. All of the cards encouraged her friends to live for Jesus.
She ended the cards with these words,“Always remember how much God loves you and wants to know you so much more on a personal level. Stay close to God daily. I'm praying for you..."
These cards were written to specific students, but I know that she would want every person she knows to read these words and apply them to their lives. Danielle loved Jesus and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. You also can belong to God if you believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, ask Him to forgive you for your sins, and invite Him to be the leader of your life. I remember the day when Danielle put her trust in Jesus.
If you have accepted Christ as your Savior, you will see Danielle again – waiting at the heavenly gate for you with her huge smile, saying “welcome home”. Danielle’s departure from this earth has emphasized how brief our time can be. I’m praying that you will share your faith with others – let’s carry on Danielle’s mission..
